TEC Gymastics sent 12 gymnasts and two coaches to Western Regionals in Pomona over last weekend and came away plenty of top 10 places.

Ashley Martinez (beam) and MaryAnn Dudley (bars) won individual gold medals. Dudley also received two bronze medals, including one for the all around. Martinez received a silver medal for her floor routine and bronze medal in the all around.

Zaniyah Baskerville also received three medals — a silver in vault and a bronze in bars and all around.

The regionals were the largest in the country featuring 2,600 athletes from California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah over a three-day period in three separate gyms.

“It was great seeing the talent working with the other coaches and watching the kids perform,” TEC owner and coach Tammi Britton said. “I love that this sport teaches you so much more than flipping and cartwheeling. Our gymnasts learn how to work under pressure, perform in front of large crowd, make new friends and, most important, set goals and achieve them.
