Rotary to host health fair

On St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, the Madera Rotary Club and Madera County Food Bank plan to hold a Community Health and Resource Fair, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pan-American Community Center, 703 E. Sherwood Way.

Families and individuals will receive free hot dog lunches as well as information and services from local agencies.

These will include health checks for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, dental care and free haircuts.

There will also be material provided on nutrition, community benefit options and a child safety fingerprinting program.

The food bank will distribute food boxes to residents with proof of identity and local residence with a California Driver’s License or Senior Citizen ID Card.

Community donors include Save Mart Supermarket on Country Club Drive, Sunsweet Dryers, Warnock Foods, California State Automobile Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Beaute Hair Salon, Darin M. Camarena Health Centers, Farmers Insurance, Madera County Public Health Department, Second Wind 5K Run, Star Center, Western Dental, Women Infants and Children (WIC) and Toni Armendariz.
