Beginning the new year at Madera South High School

The time has come.

I would like to welcome you to a new school year filled with many great opportunities and new memories. My name is Darlyn Avina. I was born and reared here in Madera, just like many other of the students who attend Madera South High School. This is my senior year at Madera South and as ASB commissioner of public relations, I will fortunately get the chance to share with our community all of the incredible things that take place at our school this year.

Aside from being an ASB officer, I am a fouryear leadership student who is not only involved with activities but also very academically driven. I successfully took on junior year with leadership activities, AP courses, and a parttime job.

This year I am determined to reach many other high achievements. When not at school, I enjoy traveling and crafting. Adventures and new inspirations are what keep my creativity and my motivation to succeed going. I aspire to graduate high school and attend college in order to pursue my dream career and fulfill all of the future life goals I set for myself and dream of during my high school years.

I am extremely excited to showcase all of the amazing things about Madera South through my weekly articles on the Madera Tribune. Make sure to keep up with all of our academic accomplishments, athletic achievements, and the work of the amazing staff and student body, through my future weekly articles, as well as through our school social media accounts.

Also, can we add that Homecoming will be Friday, Sept. 16. This year’s theme is Stallions Explore the Eras, and our parade will be held that morning, beginning at 10:30 at Stadium Road and Maple, then heading south.
