Mo’s former teacher shocked

When I received the news that Leon Emo had died in the hospital on Friday, I was just shocked. I knew that he was in the cardiac wing at St. Agnes Hospital, but didn’t realize that his heart condition was that serious.

Madera has lost a great community leader and writer. His columns brought our Madera community to life, and his reminiscent columns always brought back so many memories. Leon was a tremendous asset to the Madera Tribune, and all who read his columns and “Meanderings” will certainly miss him.

It was an honor to have had him in my biology class and to have known him throughout his life.
