Camarena Health awards 9 scholarships
Camarena Health awarded $18,000 in scholarships to area high school students with an interest in medicine early this week.
Recipients of each $2,000 scholarship are Sarah Casillas of Madera South High School, Hannah Finnegan of Minarets Charter High School, Jasmine Gonzalez of Madera High School, Keryn Grissom of Chowchilla High School, Alexandria Kuhn-Watkins of MSHS, Quentin Lawrence of Yosemite High School, Jonnie Montano of MSHS, Bethany Samarin of Liberty High School and Sakura Schweizer of University High School.
Funds for the scholarships were raised with the assistance of Camarena Health’s Board of Directors, past board members, employees, local politicians, and community members, such as Kaiser Permanente. Since 1995, Camarena Health has awarded 141 scholarships worth a total of $242,284 to Madera County students with a career focus in the medical field.
