Body found near house

The body of a man in his late 20s to early 30s was found hidden down a dirt road behind an abandoned house on Avenue 9 near Road 22 on Friday afternoon. The man’s body reportedly had sustained suspicious injuries.

His name was not being disclosed as of press time.

The body was discovered after a passerby, driving down the rural road, noticed something suspicious in a pile of debris and notified deputies.

Authorities are not releasing many other details, citing the ongoing investigation, but have ruled it a homicide and are looking for any information from anyone who may have seen a vehicle, or anything unusual, in the area at the time. The alleged homicide and dumping of the man’s body may have occurred sometime between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, they said.
