Madera County Sheriff's Log: Aug. 20-25

The Madera County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents: Aug. 20

8:46 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 26000 block of Avenue 7 in Madera regarding two juveniles who were under the influence. Both juveniles were contacted and determined not to be unable to care for themselves. The juveniles were taken from the home by a guardian. A report was forwarded to Juvenile Probation.

10:34 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the area of Royal Oaks Drive and Highway 41 in Oakhurst regarding a suspect who had been stabbed. The suspect was located by Madera Sheriff’s K9 Unit and SWAT; he was arrested and transported to Madera County Department of Corrections on suspicion of attempted murder. Aug. 21

11:32 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Civic Circle in Oakhurst for a found bicycle. The deputy arrived and took possession of the found bicycle. Aug. 22

2:40 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the 26000 block of Eddy Way in Madera regarding a subject banging on doors and trying to get inside. The subject was contacted and it was determined that he was a danger to himself and others. A hold was placed and the subject was transported to the hospital for mental health treatment. Aug. 23

8:22 a.m. — Madera County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted California Department of Fish and Wildlife Wardens to conduct a marijuana eradication operation in Madera County.

1:16 p.m. — Deputy responded to the 17000 block of Road 28 ½ in Madera regarding a copper wire theft. A crime report was generated. Aug. 24

5:29 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 26000 block of Ellis Street in Madera regarding a sexual assault of a juvenile. A preliminary investigation was completed and a report was written. The case was forwarded to detectives for follow up. Aug. 25

3:44 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the 54000 block of Road 432 in Bass Lake regarding a disturbance. Two females were arguing with each other and assaulted another subject, who refused to press charges. The female subjects drove off after being told to stop by the deputies.

9:59 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 in Oakhurst regarding a theft of a bicycle. An investigation was conducted and a report was written.
