District attorney meets legislators to discuss safety

Madera County David Linn met in Sacramento with legislators regarding public safety issues following the enactment of Proposition 57.

According to a press release from the office of District Attorney David A. Linn, the meeting took place last week, and involved Assemblyman Tom Lackey (R-36th District), the ranking party member of the California Assembly Public Safety Committee, in order to discuss problems with the proposition’s implementations.

Linn also met with Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer (D-59th District), who is chairman for the committee.

“I enjoyed my meeting with with Mr. Jones-Sawyer,” Linn said. “He is a true gentleman; however, his views as to public safety are far from the views of my Madera County constituents.”

In addition, Linn met with California Department of Corrections Secretary Scott Kernan, and had a second meeting with California Attorney General Xavier Bacerra. He also attended the California District Attorneys Association Legislator of the Year Awards, where he met with more legislators from the San Joaquin Valley.
