Prelim scheduled for murder suspects

An arraignment has been held, and a preliminary hearing has been set for two suspects accused of killing a 68-year-old man in Ahwanee last Friday.

During their video arraignment at the Madera County Superior Courthouse, suspects Craig Anthony Fetty, 28, and Tiffany Dambrino, 20, were ordered on Tuesday by Madera County Judge Ernest J. LiCalsi to return on Nov. 8 for their hearing, and on Thursday for a pre-preliminary.

Fetty and Dambrino have been charged in the murder of Dennis Dolan of Ahwahnee. Dambrino faces additional charges of battery and burglary.

Dolan was found unresponsive at his home in the 41000 block of Road 600 in Ahwahnee, near Highway 49 Friday morning. The cause of death, Madera County Sheriff’s officials said, was blunt force trauma to the head, as well as possible stab wounds.

“My uncle never had kids, so he was kind of the crazy uncle that would swing in for all family holidays, birthdays and celebrations, bringing fresh eggs, pine cones, and other gifts for myself and my cousins, and in more recent years, his 12-plus great nieces and nephews,” said Jennifer Dolan, the victim’s niece, on social media. “He was loved and will be missed.”

According to Madera County Superior Court records, Fetty has been arrested, or charged multiple times for various offenses. In 2012, he pleaded guilty to a DUI, for which he was put on probation. He also pleaded guilty in 2013 to a felony assault charge. Dambrino was charged in July, 2015 for a misdemeanor assault and battery.

Both Fetty and Dambrino are being held in Madera County Jail.
