Night Out party is set for Tuesday

Madera’s National Night Out celebration will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, with 48 neighborhood gatherings getting together to talk about public safety and other city services.

First responders and other public officials will be circulating from party to party to give presentations and answer questions.

Most of the meetings will be held in people’s yards, so attendees are advised to bring folding chairs so they can be sure of having places to sit.

Five of the gatherings will be at locations designed to accommodate larger numbers than the typical residential yard or neighborhood park.

These include:

  • A kickoff at Court House Park, 210 Yosemite Ave., featuring Madera High School and Madera South High School drum lines performing, and a singing of the National Anthem.

  • The Well Church at 650 Liberty Lane.

  • The apartment complex at 1034 E. Kennedy St.

  • The Bridge Store at 748 N. D St.

  • New Harvest Church at 518 Noble St., No. 114.
