Ex-prison warden arrested for sexual abuse

Detectives with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office have arrested an employee of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on sex-related charges.


Travis Wright, 44, of Coarsegold, was arrested for sexual abuse of a minor on Monday, according to Madera County Sheriff’s Cmdr. Bill Ward.


“This arrest was the culmination of several months of investigation into crimes that occurred years earlier, and were just recently reported,” Ward said.


Wright had served as the associate warden for the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla, but Ward has stated that the crimes investigated had nothing to do with his position there, and that there is no evidence of crimes committed at the prison by Wright...
