An argument in Rotary Park erupted into violence when one participant drew his gun and opened fire during a car chase.

According to the Madera Police Department records, Jonathan Price, a Norteno gang member, proceeded to chase after his target northbound on Highway 99 after a fight at Rotary Park April 28. Some of the other people who had been in the fight and witnessed the man with the gun, followed Price’s car and called 911, said Cpl. Josiah Arnold, and “the person with the gun fired from his car, back at the other car that was following him.”

The report says the driver of the car was Price’s girlfriend, Leah Ybarra, whose children were in the vehicle throughout the chase.

When police arrived, Ybarra reportedly pulled her vehicle over on Avenue 17, surrendering without resistance...
