Volleyball sweeps Reedley Pirates

Madera’s Matthew Carrera hits the ball through a tight window for one of his match-high 13 kills in Tuesday’s three-set sweep over the Reedley Pirates in Joe Flores Gym.

The Madera Coyotes boys volleyball team made quick work of the Reedley Pirates in its return from Spring Break.

The Coyotes outscored the Pirates 75-42 in the three set sweep Thursday in Joe Flores Gym in a match that lasted just over an hour.

“We got the rust off coming out of the break,” head coach Rhonda Jefferson-Counsel. “We have to carry that momentum into the rest of the season.”
