The Christmas Baskets tree was auctioned for $1,500. It features peacocks taking a joyous flight. The purpose of this event is to give families needed food, gifts for children, and baby sleepers to make their Christmas a bit brighter.
It was a night of fun, celebration, lights, elegance, and generosity as about 400 people attended the 38th annual Trees for Charity Dinner, hosted by Madera Sunrise Rotary on Saturday night. The theme of this year’s event was “A Red Christmas Spectacular.”
Thirteen decorated trees from local charity organizations were the featured celebrities, and were auctioned off to the highest bidders. Each tree was decorated by its organizations volunteer decorators.
As the night progressed, the trees and their organizations invited generous and charitable buyers. The decorated tree sales totaled more than $12,000. The full amount of the proceeds from each sale will be sent to the charity or charity’s designation.
