Tellez wins Rotary speech contest

The Rotary International Area 10 Speech Contest was held at Madera United Methodist Church. Madera Rotary hosted the event, in conjunction with Chowchilla and Madera Sunrise Rotary Clubs.

“This is the Area Contest,” Bobby Carter of Madera Rotary announced. “So, all our contestants have already competed in their club level.”

Erick Serna Tellez of Chowchilla was awarded first place in the competition held Wednesday evening. He will compete in the district contest at the Merced County Office of Education on March 16.
