Madera South senior Emmanuel Pantoja tries to work Torres’ Kevin Franco into a pinning position. Pantoja recorded a pin over Franco to win the 132 pound match Wednesday on Senior Night.
With the North Yosemite League crown at stake, the Madera South Stallions wrestling team picked up dual victory over the Matilda Torres Toros to take the lead in the standings.
Both teams entered Wednesday’s dual with identical 2-0 league records. The Stallions also had the advantage of four Torres forfeits for a 44-33 victory on Madera South’s Senior night.
Before the match, the Stallions honored Aldahir Reyes, Kevin Camarillo, Aaron Navarro, Emmanuel Pantoja and Ernesto Cortez.
