Madera’s Brianah Hamilton connects on a triple to left-centerfield to begin a third inning rally in a 12-2 victory over Madera South.
For the first time since 2019, the Madera South Stallions softball team took a lead over the Madera Coyotes, but the Coyotes closed the game with 11 straight runs for a mercy-rule victory at Zimmerman Field.
The Stallions took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning of an April, 2019 game that the Coyotes won 6-1. Since then, the Coyotes have outscored the Stallions 60-0, including a run in the bottom of the first inning Tuesday.
The Stallions scored two runs in the top of the second for a 2-1 lead, but the Coyotes got the season-opening 12-2 win.
