Liberty High School’s Sidney Sisil, middle, sits with her parents Sheryl and Tim after signing her National Letter of Intent to participate in equestrian at Fresno State in the fall.

Liberty High School’s Sidney Sisil signed her National Letter of Intent to Fresno State University last spring for a sport that is not competed at the high school level — equestrian.

In fact, Sisil said that there are only about 13 other Div. I colleges competing in equestrian. So, to be recruited by Fresno State, which is one of the top equestrian schools in the country carries a sense of pride.

“Fresno State has been in the top 10 for a long time,” she said. “It’s definitely been a goal since I was young to earn an athletic scholarship. I knew of their riding program. I’ve always been a Fresno state fan. To be able to hit my goal, it was a, ‘You made it,’ moment.”
