Second half goal lifts Coyote girls soccer to victory

Madera’s Aaliyah Valencia shows her surprise after scoring a second half goal that proved to be the game winner in Thursday’s victory over the Edison Tigers in Memorial Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, the Madera Coyotes girls soccer team needed a little spark in the second half to pick up a County/Metro Athletic Conference victory over the Edison Tigers.

The Coyotes got that spark in the fourth minute on a corner kick header from Aaliyah Valencia for a 1-0 victory Thursday in Memorial Stadium.

When the final three whistles sounded, the Coyotes, who have had a frustrating CMAC season, celebrated after picking up their first league win of the year.
