Remembering a contributor

The Madera community lost a great person this week — Pastor Randy Brannon.
I felt the need to write something about Randy because he was one of the first parents to connect with me when I started at the Tribune 25 years ago.
I remember he wanted to do what he could to help get more coverage for high school sports. His son, John, was a freshman football quarterback, and they were pretty good. I remember going to Clovis West and watching John and Mark Beyer beat down the Golden Eagles. Who could also forget coach Razo’s passionate speeches that made you want to put on the pads?
