After seven years as Madera’s top cop, Madera Police Chief Dino Lawson will retire.

It has already been announced that Cmdr. Gino Chiaramonte will take over for Lawson on September 19.

However, after 37 years in law enforcement and 28 years in the Madera Police Department, Lawson felt it was time.
