Police chief recognized by city council

During last week’s city council meeting, members of the council took the time to recognize and honor the senior citizens of Madera County, the dedication and service of police chief Dino Lawson and listen to a presentation on the FY 2023-24 budget.


Proclaiming August 23 to be Senior Citizens Day, Mary Garcia and members of the council recognized the contributions they make in leadership and support and the value they bring to the community during Wednesday’s meeting.


The City Council also took the time to recognize Police Chief Dino Lawson as he prepared for retirement with Madera’s Police Department also listened to a presentation regarding the budget for the fiscal year of 23/24.
