Opinion: Long live the King?

King Charles ll of Great Britain is making preparations for the coronation he’s been waiting for his whole life. What a strange position he is in. The 73-year-old monarch technically became King of the United Kingdom on the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth ll on Sept. 8, 2022.

His coronation celebration is scheduled for May 6. It is nearly impossible to know who the oldest new monarch in British history is. In the age of the Internet and 24-hour-a-day news coverage, how is a person supposed to know what to believe out of the volumes that have been written about Charles?

Personally, I will never forgive him for the way he treated his first wife, Lady Diana Spencer. In one of the many articles I have read, only after she died did he realize how much he loved her.
