This is going to be an exciting weekend, especially for hats. I love hats. I’m sure I got this love from my mother, QuoVada Louise “Kirk” Hill. She thought hats made her look glamorous. What woman doesn’t want to feel glamorous?
Her choice of hats wasn’t even the most eclectic part of her wardrobe. She loved the color blue. She wore it every chance she got. Red was my dad’s favorite color. I was always a big “daddy’s girl,” which might explain my affinity for all things red. The fact that my wardrobe is predominantly red might have a connection to Mom.
Saturday is both the Kentucky Derby and the coronation of the United Kingdom’s King Charles lll. Both of these events will be televised worldwide. The women’s hats will be a sight to see, I’m sure.
