On Thursday, family, friends, colleagues and former students gathered for the public process of bidding former Madera High School history teacher Steven Zupanovich farewell. Visitation was held on Thursday, followed by the Recitation of the Rosary. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kerman followed by interment at the Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno.

He was affectionately known as Mr. Z since Zupanovich was quite the mouthful.

As first-year teachers, he and Kathy Eisle nee Walsh were assigned as class advisors for the freshman class of 1973.
