Has anyone else noticed it feels more like spring than winter. The weather prognosticator Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Feb.2, which is supposed to mean six more weeks of winter. I shouldn’t complain. Parts of the country are experiencing wicked cold climates.

California is spoiled with loads of sunshine and not much else, weather wise. We could really use some rain in the valley. What is far more important is we need snow in the mountains and lots of it.

The temperatures do get down near freezing in the dead of the night and early morning. The sun chases away the cold and then it repeats itself. Lather, rinse, repeat is the rule of the day for the near future.

January was a tough month for me. Besides losing my right hand of 47 years, my dang washing machine died! I tried to have it repaired, but 20-year-old parts are hard to come by.

So, I did something Fred would never allow. I found a new washer online, from a reputable business, ordered it sight-unseen, and it will be delivered on Monday. God, I miss Massetti Brothers.

When they were in business one never had to worry about appliances. Plus, my life was a lot simpler during that time. I’ll let you know how this plays out.

Cable television provides company in what is an otherwise quiet house. I enjoy watching history, true crime and game shows.

Jeopardy! Helps keep my brain active. I am one of those who roots for a “True Daily Double,” while watching Jeopardy! Given the right categories I would love to compete on the Cadillac of trivia shows.

Price is Right gives me a view of some of the most ridiculous products on the market.

The contestants also compete for trips to places I would never think of going. Until I have seen all of the USA a trip out of country doesn’t interest me.

I usually reserve my travelling money to go to Nashville. I also have cousins in Denver, Florida and the Chicago area, too. Were I to ever win a big jackpot I would like to gather all these cousins in some resort spot for a family reunion!

A fairly new game show, The Chase, pits Trivia Masters against regular people that are hoping to bring home big money. The Chase is way out of my league but watching it is an excellent way to blow a couple of hours before bed.

Thanks deeply for the cards and letters expressing condolence for the loss of my husband. After 47 years together it is a blessing to know how he touched others in the community. Reading, he was good guy or he was my friend, does my heart good. The Facebook posts bring me joy.

Long days and pleasant nights, have a blessed weekend.
