New business fills hole in community

Madhouse Batting Cages owners, Alex Barajas and Letty Velarde along with their children, Alejandro and Giselle Barajas hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening event on January 12.

For many years, one of the things Madera could hang its hat on was the success of its bat and ball teams. 

The Madera Coyote baseball and softball teams have won Central Section championships in recent years. The Madera Babe Ruth All-Stars teams are consistently among the state’s best teams. And the Madera American and Madera National Little League baseball teams are traditionally the best teams in the area. 

All of that was done without a place to practice hitting in.
