MUSD hosts Battle of the Books

Students from 18 Madera Unified elementary schools gather at the Matilda Torres theater to hear the results from the third annual Battle of the Books competition.

 

Eighteen Madera Unified Elementary schools participated in the third annual district-wide literacy competition, the Battle of the Books. 


The event was held at Matilda Torres High School in late March. Approximately 140 third-sixth grade students representing 18 elementary schools competed. 


This competition was coordinated through the Elementary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment department with site support from Library Media Technicians and classroom teachers who coached the team at the schools.
