Meeting held to discuss Supes’ pay raise

A special meeting was held by the Madera County Board of Supervisors, to start the process of repealing and revoking a proposed pay increase for the Board of Supervisors, as referenced in Ordinance 701.


There were two discussion items on the agenda for the Tuesday meeting. The first item was consideration to adopt a Resolution repealing Ordinance 701 and revoking allocation of the compensation and benefits provisions for members of the Board of Supervisors identified in Ordinance Number 701. In addition, discussion and consideration to introduce for approval an ordinance repealing Ordinance Number 701 and reaffirming and re-enacting Ordinance Number 530G pertaining to compensation and benefit provisions for members of the Board of Supervisors.


In public comments, members of the community commended the board on their decision to repeal the pay increase.
