Nearly 400 staff members attended the Madera County Superintendent of Schools (MCSOS), “Welcome Back” conference at the MCSOS Conference Center.

Guest speaker Phil Boyte spoke about, “Finding the Joy in Education” during Wednesday’s conference. The premise of his speech was to focus on people and building positive relationships. He reminded the group that more can be accomplished with the help of others and illustrated how building a network of people to call upon can help ease stressful situations.

Boyte provided examples through activities for the novice relationship builder to the accomplished networker. The two-hour professional development session was light and entertaining, while driving home the importance of focusing on accomplishments rather than end results. In doing so, strong relationships with students and staff can be developed.
