Liberty’s Ethan Dunn runs through a tackler on his way to a 34-yard touchdown, his first of a school-record six touchdowns in Friday’s 42-33 victory over Los Banos.
The Los Banos Tigers posted a threat to end the Liberty Hawks football team’s undefeated run to open the 2025 season, but the Hawks scored touchdowns on their last three drives for a 42-33 victory Friday.
The Hawks gave up a season-high 438 yards of offense to the Tigers. However, the Hawks used the ground game to control the time of possession. They earned 26 first downs and gained 375 yards rushing to keep their undefeated season going.
“I knew it was going to be a tough game for us,” head coach Mike Nolte said. Hey had some good athletes on the field. We could see that on film. They had the ability to do some stuff, and we would struggle with that a little bit. They exposed us a bit, and we have to get better. But, we all knew it was going to be a tough game.”
