Another Measure T Initiative is on Nov. 5, 2024, ballot in Madera County.
After the loss of Measure T-2022, the executive director of the Madera County Transportation Commission (MCTC) and the Madera County Transportation Authority (MCTA) was asked if the MCTC and MCTA boards planned a Citizens’ Initiative. A citizens’ initiative requires only a simple majority to pass, unlike a 2/3 majority for county-proposed measures. The director emphatically said NO!
In 2024, County Government officials drafted a new Measure T ordinance and ballot language.
