Liberty’s Emma Voolstra rises up over the block of Madera South’s Angelina Alejo to put down one of her team-high seven kills in Thursday’s sweep over the Stallions.

The Liberty Hawks girls volleyball team finished its “Madera Week” with a three-set sweep over the Madera South Stallions before playing in the Madera Classic Volleyball Tournament over the weekend.

The Hawks had to withstand a Madera South battle in the second set to record a 25-12, 25-23, 25-16 victory Thursday at Liberty.

The Hawks served well and spread the ball around to help with the win. They served up 17 aces and had kills from nine different people. London Patton and Emma Voolstra led the team with seven kills each. The Hawks totaled 31 kills in the three sets.
