Hawks rout Tigers in quarters

The Liberty Hawks baseball team celebrates the final out in Friday’s quarterfinal game. They reminded themselves not to celebrate until the next week, hopefully after a Central Section championship.

The Liberty Hawks baseball team scored in every inning and ended up with a 14-2 victory over the eighth-seeded Wasco Tigers in the Div. IV Central Section quarterfinals.

The top-seeded Hawks blew the game open with a five-run third and left no doubt with a four-run sixth inning Friday afternoon.

“One through nine, we’re very good,” head coach Derick Kuhn said. “We don’t really have any weak spots. We kind of go pitch-by-pitch. Today, we grinded out at-bats and hunted quality.”
