Gray wins third straight frosh award

Madera South standout Murf Gray won his third straight Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Week honors for the Fresno State Bulldogs this week.

 

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Former Madera South star and current Fresno State Bulldog Murf Gray was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week for the third week in a row.


Gray is the first Fresno State and fourth Mountain West baseball player to earn an MW weekly honor for three consecutive weeks since 2000.


Gray started every game for the Bulldogs in last week’s road series against Air Force, and the mid-week matchup against UC Irvine, at third base and currently leads the Bulldogs at the plate with a .307 average. He is sixth on the team in hits and among seven Bulldogs with double-digits RBIs. He is second on the team with a .440 slugging percentage.
