Gray claims seventh MW honor

Former Madera South freshman Murf Gray hit another home run and was named the Mountain West Conference’s Freshman of the Week for the seventh time this season.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — For the seventh time in 2023, Fresno State’s Murf Gray has been named Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

The former Madera South standout had a solid weekend at the plate, going 4-for-8 against Saint Mary’s.

He owned a 1.125 slugging percentage on the weekend, adding a home run and a triple to his resume, along with six RBIs and two runs scored.
