Girls Scout produces library in a box

For The Madera Tribune

Isadora Zabel cuts the ribbon to officially open a library box in front of Sunset Church of Christ on Monday. Zabel used the box as her Bronze Award submission for her girl scout group.

Isadora Zabel, an 11-year-old representing Girl Scout Troop 4006 completed her Bronze Award submission with the building of a library box in Madera.

She built the box to share her passion for literacy with other children. She originally wanted to erect a library in a box for the rural community, but was told she couldn’t.

She wasn’t deterred. She asked her church, Sunset Church of Christ at 600 Orchard Avenue (near Thomas Jefferson Middle School and John Adams Elementary School) to find a home for her box.
