Janette Sanchez.
Janette Sanchez, a native of the small California town of Greenfield, had dreams of leaving her small town.
After graduating from high school in 2013, she decided that if she did not want to get left behind, she would need to make a bold decision, which resulted in her enlisting in the U.S. Army.
“I wanted to leave pretty fast,” Sanchez said. “Coming from a small town, I knew I didn’t have any other plans. The military was the quickest way out of a small town, especially if I wanted to do something with myself. I walked into the recruitment office and was like, ‘Hey, what’s the fastest way for you guys to get me into the military?’”
