Fatality in train vs. pedestrian

Madera Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of N. Gateway Drive and E. Yosemite Avenue on Friday at about 9:20 p.m. regarding a subject being struck by a train.
Officers arrived on scene and located and male subject lying near the railroad tracks, north of E. Yosemite.
Unfortunately, the subject sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was identified as a 59-year-old transient male adult based on prior contacts with the police department.
