SELMA — The Matilda Torres Toros baseball team went into the final game of the Selma Kiwanis Easter Classic with a chance to finish 3-1.
Unfortunately, the Toros fell behind early, and couldn’t come back in a 12-7 loss to Sierra on April 16. The Toros pitched their three best pitchers in three earlier games and had to battle through.
Juan Gil gave a workmanlike-four innings. He allowed six runs on eight hits. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out four. Chris Capelluti and Trey Garcia combined to allow six runs over three innings of work.
