Madera’s Adam Ornelas races into the end zone ahead of an Edison defender to score on a 74-yard touchdown catch for the Coyotes’ first touchdown in Friday’s 34-26 victory.
With a week off and after its first loss of the season, the Madera Coyotes football team battled back for a 34-26 victory over the Edison Tigers to open the County/Metro Athletic Conference season at Sunnyside Stadium.
After Edison scored a touchdown to cut Madera’s lead to two late in the third quarter, the Coyotes scored two touchdowns to put the game away Friday night.
Edison responded with a long touchdown, but Madera ran out the clock to finish the game on a knee.
