Madera makes mistakes while Bears toss a no-hitter

In the much-awaited debut of the Madera Coyotes Softball Stadium, the Buchanan-Clovis Bears stole the spotlight with a pair of late inning runs and a no-hitter to record a 3-2 victory over the Madera Coyotes.

Buchanan pitcher Christal Lopez tossed a no-hitter despite walking six batters and hitting two others.

However, it was the Coyotes who held the lead for most of the game. A pair of mistakes in the sixth and seventh innings allowed the tying and go-ahead runs in the non-conference loss.
