Council tackles various issues at meeting

Madera City Council members had a busy evening during its regular meeting on January 17. Making several proclamations, holding several workshops, and several public hearings were all on the agenda, in addition to the regular consent calendar.

Council members awarded three proclamations during its regular meeting. First to CAPMC, the Council recognized the month of January as Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Month. Program manager Jennifer Coronado was on hand to receive the proclamation.

Dan Foss from the O.L.I.V.E. Foundation was on site describing the scope of the issue in the community and how the organization plays a crucial role in the fight against human trafficking and how they serve those who have fallen victim.
