Council chooses cannabis retail recipients

In a special meaning of the Madera City Council on Wednesday, applicants for the cannabis retail license waited anxiously while City Council members presented their interview questions to the individual groups.

This follows a special meeting the previous Saturday in which the 20 applicants were given an opportunity to polish their presentations and refine their offers to the community before addressing for a final time the council. 

In an effort to swoon their favor, several organizations modified their previous offers of community reinvestment by raising the amounts previously stated and offered to do more for the community through outreach and other community enrichment programs. One business even founded a new organization dedicated to serving children in the community through various enrichment programs.
