Members of Madera Chamber of Commerce board of directors John Copland, left, Zahid Bhatti, second from left, and Joe Doyland, right, present a Lifetime Achievement Award in memory of Tami Jo Nix to Rick Dorris, holding vase, and fellow colleagues Tyler Takeda and Nancy Simpson.

Lifetime Achievement Awards recipient, the late Tami Jo Nix, would have written in the Madera Tribune, “a good time was had by all,” at last week’s awards dinner hosted by the Madera Chamber of Commerce.

A new group of recipients were honored Thursday night at Hatfield Hall in the Madera Fairgrounds.

Elaine Bethel Fink, Phil and Klina Oberti, Robert Poythress and Gerry Desmond were honored by the Chamber of Commerce for their work in the Madera community. Nix, who passed away in May, was awarded the Memorial Honoree. Nix spent many years covering the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Tribune.
