Nancy Sherrod, pointing to her son’s name, stands with husband Kevin, middle, and Coyote football coach Yosef Fares after winning a team autographed helmet for $1,000 in the live auction during last year’s Madera Coyote kickoff dinner.
With the football season starting a couple of weeks early, the annual Madera Coyote kick-off dinner had to move its date.
The Coyote football season will unofficially start Saturday evening with its kick-off dinner at the San Joaquin Wine Company, 21801 Ave. 16.
Cocktail hour is from 5-6 p.m. with a catered dinner by the Madera Community Hospital beginning at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased from any football player or by calling 675-0319.
In addition to the dinner, there will be a silent and live auction, which will again feature a Coyote football helmet signed by the football players. Traditionally, the helmet is the item that brings in the most money during the auction.
There will be a deejay and dancing to follow.
All proceeds go to the Madera Coyote football program.
