Public interviews for school board set
Madera Unified School District trustees are set to fill the vacancy on the school board, which was created by the resignation of Maria Velarde-Crist.
This will be done at the board’s Feb. 27 meeting, according to information from the district office. The times for that meeting have been adjusted in order that the board may hold public interviews of the four individuals who have applied for the position.
The applicants are Joetta Flores Fleak, Dr. Loraine Goodwin, Philip Huerta, and Matthew H. Stickler.
The Feb. 27 meeting will begin at 4 p.m. with a closed session. The board is scheduled to return to open session at 5:15. At approximately 5:30, trustees will conduct public interviews of the applicants.
The agenda for the meeting includes an action item to fill the vacancy.
