An older, blue and white Chevy S10 pickup sits in the front yard of a home in the 700 block of Linden Street, and was allegedly used to haul away a large safe containing cash after a recent armed home invasion robbery.
A brazen home invasion and armed robbery took place in the 700 block of Linden Street just north of Sunset Avenue on Jan. 30, about 11 a.m., according to the Madera Police Department.
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the suspects and the unusual vehicle used in the robbery.
No injuries were reported.
Detective Sgt. Mark Trukki said the incident was all caught on the homeowners' surveillance system and showed three young, tall, black males approach the house with a gun, enter the house and exit with a large safe, after backing the older 1980s or 1990s Chevy S10 pickup truck up to the front steps of the house.
“This was not a random (robbery), we believe the house was targeted. The homeowner was not home. The men were masked, walked to the door and waved a gun at a woman who was home with two small children. They got the large safe and the large amount of money they came for,” Trukki said.
The Chevy S10 pickup is also unusual and should be easy to spot, he said. “It’s blue on the top, white in the center section, and blue on the bottom. We also believe the suspects are local, from the surrounding area, probably Merced, Madera, or Fresno areas ...” he said.
