Eighth graders of Sherman Thomas STEM Academy watch a partial solar eclipse Aug. 21.
The newest school in the Sherman Thomas charter organization kicked off its fresh school year with solar eclipse activities after opening its doors Aug. 21.
Sherman Thomas STEM Academy has a special focus on the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and looks at middle school education through a lens of college and career readiness, according to the school. Teachers are credentialed in these topics as well as English language arts, history, and the arts.
While the current year has a waiting list of applicants, applications for the 2018-2019 school year will be available Sept. 1 through Nov. 30.
