Readers weren’t pleased that Klein’s truck stop, northwest of Fresno, will be dismantled due to the state’s high-speed rail project.

“Gunther Carr” wrote, “Klein’s hasn’t been Klein’s in years. The restaurant part from old days has been closed … and it’s gone downhill.”

Readers were divided about the Madera City Council’s workshop on marijuana legalization.

Readers liked an update on how former Coyote softball standout Mariah Davis is doing as she begins her senior year at Bethune-Cookman University in Florida.

Rave — Madera sisters Sophia and X Mireles recently competed at the AAU Junior Olympics in Michigan, and Sophia placed fifth in the U.S. in the 3,000 meter run. “Tammy Rethwill” commented, “That’s freaking awesome.”
